Applying Blumer anf Kat's theory to the Big Bang theory

A sitcom or situation comedy is a comedy show that has a large story line and is situated around a common area like at home or work place. Some examples of sitcoms are Friends, which is mostly set in Monica's apartment or in the cafe.

The Big Bang theory isn't intended to teach the audience anything as it is mostly them making fun of each other and acting like nerds which is funny. However because they are very clever the characters could teach you somethings like what not to do.

The Big Bang theory is made to entertain the audience and to make them laugh through the things that happen to the characters and the funny things they say to each other while insulting or by the fact that when they are being clever most of the audience don't know what they are talking about at they use very big words and talk fast which makes the audience laugh as it is done in a funny way.

The Big Bang theory is part of social interaction as the people who watch it talk about it to their friends and tell them the jokes that they heard on the show. This might make the people who don't watch it want to watch it because they will want to see if it is actually funny for themselves.

The Big Bang theory can be used to escape the real world by watching this show to make them laugh and to let them forget about the bad things in reality by slipping away to a place where things are funny and where you can laugh at other people's misfortunes. It might make their day.

The Big Bang theory can be used for identification as some people might be able to relate to some of the things that happen to the characters and they will be able to see the funny side of it which might make whatever happened to them not that bad.
