Experience of the Uni Train

A engineering visit had been set in Coventry University at 31st of July 2012 to 2nd of August 2012 which had been set by The Smallpeice Trust.  Dr Cosby D P Smallpeice - a brilliant, self-taught engineer who invented the Smallpeice Lathe and founded Martonair Ltd. to specialise in pneumatic equipment for the machine tool industry - founded the Trust.
After the flotation of Martonair, Dr Smallpeice put his energy and £1.6m of his personal fortune to set up The Smallpeice Trust in 1966 to encourage youngsters to take a career in engineering.
A lot of people all around Coventry in Leamington, Kenilworth, Hillfields and Foleshill had attended.
The views of the people who had attended were all positive. Here two of the view of the children who attended;
Anmol Arora from Newcastle Upon Lyne School: This course was really fun and I enjoyed it and was a good experience for when we come to university.
Monazzam Khan from Sidney Stringer Academy: This course was really good as we got to meet new people and share ideas and skills of engineering and we had felt how it was for when we go university. Also the Smallpeice trusts have been grateful for doing this and hope a lot of people attend this course afterwards.
Monazzam Khan from Sidney Stringer Academy and his team The JLR6 had made a car called the Discovery12. They had made the car the Discovery into a better model so it would be more modern and had to think of how they could have done it. Here is the car that they had made.
This is all from Monazzam Khan.

Applying Blumer anf Kat's theory to the Big Bang theory

A sitcom or situation comedy is a comedy show that has a large story line and is situated around a common area like at home or work place. Some examples of sitcoms are Friends, which is mostly set in Monica's apartment or in the cafe.

The Big Bang theory isn't intended to teach the audience anything as it is mostly them making fun of each other and acting like nerds which is funny. However because they are very clever the characters could teach you somethings like what not to do.

The Big Bang theory is made to entertain the audience and to make them laugh through the things that happen to the characters and the funny things they say to each other while insulting or by the fact that when they are being clever most of the audience don't know what they are talking about at they use very big words and talk fast which makes the audience laugh as it is done in a funny way.

The Big Bang theory is part of social interaction as the people who watch it talk about it to their friends and tell them the jokes that they heard on the show. This might make the people who don't watch it want to watch it because they will want to see if it is actually funny for themselves.

The Big Bang theory can be used to escape the real world by watching this show to make them laugh and to let them forget about the bad things in reality by slipping away to a place where things are funny and where you can laugh at other people's misfortunes. It might make their day.

The Big Bang theory can be used for identification as some people might be able to relate to some of the things that happen to the characters and they will be able to see the funny side of it which might make whatever happened to them not that bad.

One Direction get's show offer

Fans have never been too comfortable with the boys being associated with the channel and touring with Big Time Rush due to the squeaky clean image; but upon hearing that the boys were confirmed to have their own show on the channel fans were angry and worried that they’re attracting a too young fan base.

so, what's your opinion? Comment down below to tell us what you think?
Should One Direction get their own Nickelodeon show? If not, why?

Oldest sheep in the world dies after falling off cliff

A female sheep thought to be the oldest in the world has died after falling off a cliff.
Methuselina, the elderly ewe, died aged 25 years and 11 months on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles.
Her owner, John Maciver, put her long life down to her still having most of her teeth meaning she could eat grass easily.
The normal life span of a sheep is around 10-12 years

Lambs at risk from deadly Schmallenberg virus

A virus that is a serious threat to sheep and other farm animals has hit 74 farms in England.
The Schmallenberg virus mainly affects sheep. If a pregnant sheep catches the disease, it can have a serious effect on a lamb's development before it is born.
This means it could die or be born severely deformed.
The virus could have been spread here by midges, mosquitoes and ticks from Europe which bite and infect sheep.
At the moment, the affected farms are in the south but farmers are worried the disease will spread north. They're calling on scientists to develop a vaccine but that could take up to two years.
Although cows and goats can be affected by the Schmallenberg virus, it's not thought it's a risk to humans.
During spring, around 16 million lambs will be born in the UK.

Badger Trust launch legal challenge to badger cull

The Badger Trust has launched a new legal challenge to the government's plans to cull badgers in England.
The plans to kill large numbers of badgers have been put in place because it's thought they give tuberculosis (TB) to cows.
It's a disease that affects the lungs and can be deadly.
The Badger Trust believes that a cull will not stop the disease from being spread and could in fact make it worse.
In December, the government announced its plans for a cull in pilot areas in England, to try to bring the disease under control.
At the same time, wildlife groups also began vaccination programmes, hoping this will remove any need for culling but the government says the vaccine is not good enough to solve the problem.

Horse saved in dramatic quicksand rescue

A horse minutes away from drowning in quicksand has been saved in a dramatic rescue.
Nicole Graham and her daughter, Paris, were riding along a beach in Melbourne, Australia when their horses got stuck in the muddy sands.
The woman managed to dig her daughter's horse free but her horse, Astro, was stuck.
Nicole stayed by Astro's side for three hours until rescuers pulled him from the sands with ropes and a big tractor.
She said: "It was heartbreaking to see my horse struggling. He is so well trained, he knew I would get him out so he didn't fight."
Afterwards Astro was treated to bread and jam and a massage to help him recover.

T. rex had the most powerful bite

Tyrannosaurus rex had the most powerful bite of any creature that ever walked the Earth, according to scientists.
Experts from the University of Liverpool have used a life size T. rex skull to help them digitally recreate the dinosaur's powerful jaws in 3D.
With its razor sharp teeth and huge mouth, the Tyrannosaurus really was the ultimate prehistoric predator.
The team said that if you were bitten, it would be like having the weight of a medium sized elephant sitting on you.

Ever wondered why zebras have black-and-white stripes? Well, a group of scientists think they developed them to keep away blood-sucking flies.

Researchers put out different coloured models of horses in a field - one brown, one black, one white, and one with black-and-white stripes.

The model with black-and-white stripes attracted the least number of flies.

The team thinks the stripey pattern is a turn-off for flies, because of how it reflects light.

Free school support from barclays

The bank will offer £1m to people that want to set up free schools and invest £15m in money management causes.

It will also provide work experience to 3,000 pupils aged 16 to 18 from academies and free schools, and will encourage staff to become governors.

The National Union of Teachers accused the government of "opening up schools to the market place".

A total of 24 free schools opened in September last year and 71 are due to open from this September.

Academies and free schools are key parts of changes the coalition government has brought in.

They are state-funded but with even more freedom over the curriculum and teachers' pay and conditions than other schools.

The government would like all schools to become academies, which are different from local authority control.

Free schools can be set up by groups including charities, businesses, parents and religious bodies.

But critics who opposed to free schools and the expansion of academies say, "this will lead to a two-tier system and the break-up of the state education system."

Dark matter overwhelms

A distant dwarf galaxy has been discovered using a clever technique called gravitational lensing.

The strange and distant galaxy has been recorded to be 10bn light years away and is mysteriously largely consisted of dark matter an unkown phenomena to science. This dwarf of a galaxy could be a satellite of our galaxy.

"According to the theory of galaxy formation, you'd expect thousands of these satellites," described lead author of the study Simona Vegetti of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Another of her study stated that "But if you look at the Milky Way we only find 30, so it's important to understand how many satellites are really there, and important to look at other galaxies other than the Milky Way,"

That will help confirm if our cosmic neighbourhood of galaxies - the Local Group - is strange, or if the theory of galaxy formation is incomplete.

iPads, the new ID?
Martin Reisch, a Canadian man, was able to cross over to the US even after he forgot his passport by showing the official a scaned image of his passport on his iPad. He told the official that he was going to Vermont to give Christmas presents.
Reisch told the press that he knew the official had made an exception, ‘I thought I’d at least give it try.’ He also said that the drivers licence and the true story he told helped him cross the border to deliver his presents.
He then managed to re-enter to Canada on the same day. Reisch said that he thinks scanned identification will become normal in the near or distant future. ‘I see the future as 100% being able to cross with your identity on a digital device – it’s just a matter of time.’

The parents of Stephen demanded that the other people that were involved in the racist murder of their son be captured to. Doreen and Neville, Stephen’s parents, wept as Gary Dobson and David Norris were brought to justice for one of Britain’s most unknown about crimes. The two found killers were sentenced to life in prison.
Dobson ,36, was also serving 5 years for drug dealing shouted out, as they took him away, ‘you have condemned an innocent man here – I hope you can live with yourselves.’ Norris, 35, raised his fist is a rude gesture to the family. The police vowed to keep searching for the other killers involved in the murder of Stephen in the hope of putting more people behind bars.
